✅ With hands-on guidance, a repeatable systemized process for creating polished tracks, and a team dedicated to getting you there (regardless of genre).

How We Structure Our Mentorship:

Does This Sound Like You?

  • You're missing that last 10-20% in your productions or mixes

  • You can't get your songs sounding polished like your references

  • You feel overwhelmed trying to learn how to mix and produce your own music

  • You've considered going to school for music production

  • You know that you have great song ideas and if you could only get your songs sounding fully professional you'd be able to open doors to new opportunities for your music career

You're not alone and in fact - I've been exactly where you're at.

Even AFTER going to school for music technology...

But after helping not only myself, but hundreds of other self-producing artists break past this wall I've realized it just comes down to a repeatable process, a properly trained ear, and the right guidance & accountability.

How I Went From Soggy Mixes to Playlists, Streams, and Helping Other Artists, Producers, & Bands Release Bangers:

In 2017 I graduated NYU with a fancy music tech degree. I took classes on how to engineer, learned how to use a $200k SSL console I'd never see again, and built a sine wave from scratch. My only work prospect - a runner gig at Alicia Keys' studio in the Chelsea neighborhood of NYC... they turned me down. And I still had the soggiest mixes in all of the land 😭

I decided to come back home to Boston to intern for free at a non-profit studio called The Record Co, while taking on clients as a freelancer for crumbs, and also while self-producing my band A Crash Republic's debut EP at the same time. But you see, I had HUNGER man... 😤

I became OBSESSED with engineering, production, mixing, and mastering. Because I knew my music had the potential for greatness if we could only get it SOUNDING how I wanted.

So after thousands of hours of engineering & mixing my own music, working with other artists, bands, singers, rappers, & producers... I developed the quickest and most effective ways to not only self-produce and mix MY music, but music in pretty much ANY genre.

We released our debut EP as a band (after 2 years lol), and it immediately landed placements in Spotify's editorial "Pop Punk's Not Dead" and "New Punk Tracks" playlists. I then tried my hand at self-producing in my own solo project using more electronic & sample-based elements. And one of my songs "Sellout" got a quarter million streams just by getting on Spotify's algorithmic "Discover Weekly" playlist. I had clearly cracked the code when it came to getting a universally professional, radio-ready sound 🎚️🏆

So how did I get into teaching? Well around 2020 my bandmate Andrew and I started our own studio after The Record Co. shut down for an expansion. We built it from the ground up, brought all of our clients over there... and had to shut it down cuz of COVID (fml).

But around then I started sharing tips and things I had learned about self-producing and mixing on Tiktok and instagram. I found out very quickly how many artists and producers were struggling getting their tracks sounding professional...

So I decided to start teaching other artists, bands, producers, etc. how to achieve what I had achieved with nailing down the sound that was in my head. Overnight, a 3 spot beta launch turned into 10 students... and Self-Reliant Producer Coaching became my full time job the very day I launched it.

How Do I Actually Help You?

In my experience I've boiled this down to 3 simple steps:

  • Developing a repeatable, systemized process for creating your songs. This turns music making into a checklist, and boils it down to a science. So you're not wasting creative energy in the wires. And instead spending it on things that matter like writing the greatest songs you can and getting great performances.

  • Developing your ear to understand what to listen for. You should know what each individual element should sound like in the context of the entire mix. You should know what to listen for and which tools to use in what order to fit that sound into the pocket. Sound and mixing is its own language, separate from harmony, melody, and rhythm. Knowing what compression does is like knowing the words and vocabulary. But knowing how much to use, where, and why is the same as being able to form sentences and hold a conversation.

  • Completing songs you're 100% proud of that fit a professional standard. We always start with one song to use as the "blueprint" for all of your music moving forward. We'll teach you everything you need to know in the context of that one song, take it across the finish line together, and give you confidence and proof of concept to know that you'll be able to do it again and again for the rest of your life.

If it's this easy, then why do people stay stuck? I'll tell you right now:

They're doing things completely different every time, often following MULTIPLE sources of information as opposed to one trusted source

The engineers or producers in YouTube videos are often using THEIR plugins, and THEIR tools, and THEIR music. You try to apply what you learn in the video to your music. Maybe it'll half work on one song... and completely NOT work on another. Because it's hard to actually teach yourself what to listen for in the context of YOUR music this way.

There's no accountability. No one guiding you and holding you to the goals that you set. If you wanted to release an EP by the end of the year, who's gonna pick you up and actually CARE about you learning what you need to learn so you can fulfill that promise to yourself?

It's tough to do this on your own. But the steps I described WORK. I've make it happen for hundreds of students who simply trusted the process, did the work, and raised their hand when they had questions. But if you don't believe me, see for yourself...

We Walk the Talk:

You've seen other companies selling their mixing/production courses...

But these people are usually not artists themselves. The whole reason I got into doing this is because I was originally in a band that wanted to self-produce and mix our own music 🎶🎸

That's MASSIVE part of my story and what motivated me to get good enough to teach it to other people 🪗

My mission has always been embedded in my own music. So to let you know that we really walk the talk here, I'll give you a couple examples of my own work that you can check out as well as a few before & after examples from my students after working together for just a couple months:

My Own Music ("Sellout" the song that got on "Discover Weekly" with no paid promotion (I made this in my bedroom)):

"Sweet Apathy" the song off my band's first EP that got on "Pop Punk's Not Dead" and "New Punk Tracks" with 0 paid promo (we've come a long way since then):

Student Before & Afters

(Scroll Down):

Are You Finally Ready to Consistently Release Music You're Proud Of?

Look... if you've been struggling to self-produce and mix your music, this program is designed to arm you with the skills to make songs that sound great quickly and efficiently. We'll win you back the time you're wasting aimlessly trying to watch videos to fix your problems. And we'll save you the money you'd be spending on engineers or producers... for the REST OF YOUR LIFE.

And yes homie, unfortunately you will have to pay money to work with me. But a broken mindset thinks "What's the Cost?" While a successful mindset thinks "What's the value of what I get in return?"

Think like a successful self-producing artist and not just someone who "wishes" they would've tried.

If this resonated with you, I'd love to meet you. Let's see if we're a good fit to work together. Click the button below to schedule a call for us to chat!

This call is completely free, and I don't work with just anyone. Worst case you'll walk away with clarity on where to go from here with your music. All I ask is that you ARE serious about getting started if we both see it's a good fit and the right move for you and your music right now (assuming everything aligns).

So book a call to chat and get the professional-sounding songs you could only DREAM of. And let's show everyone you went to high school with and your annoying relatives at Thanksgiving that your "little music thing" is actually a BIG music thing 😎🤘🎚️

FAQ:

Q: Will this program work for any kind of music?

Yes! We've worked with one-man bands, solo-cellists, hip-hop, pop, EDM (tech house, dubstep, you name it), metal, progressive, and everything in between. Nick himself from a band background, working with rock music and studying how to work with almost every genre. The same principles can be applied across the spectrum when it comes to home production, which is the beauty of music making.

Q: How will the technology work to do everything online?

We will personally walk you through the short process of getting the software and audio routed properly to stream high quality video and audio to us for the one-on-one and group calls. Once it’s set up, it’s a simple 3 clicks to get audio and video sent over live, so you get to work with Nick & his team just like you’re sitting next to each other hearing it on the same speakers!

Q: Is this a course, coaching program, WHAT BRO

This is a coaching mentorship that includes various resources and live support/guidance every day. We’ve also created exclusive content available in the member area for which we grant LIFETIME ACCESS to anyone who enrolls in this program (as we’re continuously adding more). After we have our first strategy session, the one-on-one calls will be focused on breaking through different barriers and overcome key issues you may have in your own personal music making journey. This time is extremely valuable so make sure you show up on time! The group calls will be focused on some general knowledge everyone can benefit from as well as specific questions people may have. The idea here is also to learn things in a group setting with a sense of community. Oftentimes you won’t be dealing with the specific issue that someone else is having but afterwards you’ll be facing their same problem and know how to handle it based on a previous group call in which we tackled that specific problem.

Q: What’s the deal with the online community??

The community is a place to have discussions, show some specific work and get feedback, or just ask some general questions in which we could benefit from in an online forum! However the true meat in solving problems and getting results will always be on the one-on-one or group coaching calls.

Q: How often and how long are the one-on-one calls?

These calls will be roughly 30 minutes long (potentially longer depending on the topic) and they will scheduled depending on how quickly you process through each specific topic (vocal mixing for example). They can be weekly, bi-weekly, etc. These will also be recorded and uploaded into your one-on-one folder within 24 hours of the meeting.

Q: How often and long are the weekly group calls?

The group calls will be twice a week and they will run roughly 1 hour long or until everyone gets their questions answered.

Q: What happens if I can’t make the group call?

Not to worry! You’ll be able to access the recorded group call from the membership area so you can check out what went down whenever you want!

Q: How long is the program?

The program includes 6 months access to the group calls, 6 mandatory one-on-ones to be completed within those 6 months, and lifetime access to

the membership resources provided as the program evolves and progresses (including the core-content we created to help music-makers like you!)

Q: When does it start?

We officially kicked off our program on November 18th, 2020! Each student enters the program whenever he or she enrolls and usually the first one-on-one call can be booked for as soon as a week after enrolling!

Q: Any upsells or hidden costs?

The short answer, no. We don’t believe in trying to rope you in for more money, the point of this program is to actually SAVE you time and money in trying to do everything you can to become the self-sustaining producer you want to be.There may be some investments that need to be made on your end in terms of software or equipment but these will be minimal as we believe you can get outstanding results with the right mindset rather than expensive gear.

Q: What makes this different from a course or video series?

This is more immersive than a course or series you pay for and sort-of lose interest in after the first couple of weeks. This is something meant to improve your skills and mindset and provide you with what you need to make great records on your own for the foreseeable future. Our goal isn’t to rope you in and keep you on a leash for your entire music career. The goal here is to give you what you need to be able to move forward and stop wasting time and money on resources on things that you only wish you could do or handle yourself.

Q: How much support is there in helping me create and refine my songs?

As much as you need. You have weekly group calls, one-on-one calls, and the online community as well. All of the calls are time you can use to ask whatever your biggest roadblocks and frustrations are and get them sorted out LIVE. We are here to guide you along and help at any point, including in the private group. We want to have YOU go through the motions instead of making it for you, so you are 100% equipped to make music on your own for the rest of your life!

Q: How in depth does the program go into software (DAW, Plug-ins etc) and technical end?

We have Nick and approved team members specializing in anything to do with computers, tech issues, navigating your DAW and more on our weekly group calls & one-on-ones. We are masters of software platforms, so whatever issue you’re experiencing, we can provide clarity on it quickly and get you moving forward.

Q: Do I need to have an understanding of music theory, songwriting, and music software or are these basics covered in the program?

We cover many of these topics in our core content and are always working towards building out more formal courses, BUT any specific questions can always be answered on one-on-ones or group calls! We also have specialists we've taken on over the years to cover things like music theory, drum rhythm composition, guitar tone, etc. And even if you are new, you’ll still have access to the online resources even after you’ve completed the initial 6 months so you can continue to grow and expand your knowledge as we continue to create more content to fit these needs!

Q: Does the program come with any guarantees?

Yes, our guarantee is that if you are fully committed to doing the work you will see the results. If you show up, trust the process, and work hard, you will have zero issues making several finished songs in the next handful of months completely on your own. In other words, we cannot “guarantee” it because you have to show up. We can’t sit in your bedroom and bop you on the head everyday. What we can guarantee is that there will be no student left behind!

Q: Do I have to make a financial decision on the strategy call?

The purpose of the call is to see if you, your partners, etc. are the best fit and then get you enrolled. You do not have to make a financial decision on the call, but being prepared is definitely the best option, as we do reward people who take action and are 100% committed to jumping in.

Q: Do Nick and his team actually make the music for me?

During our calls guide you through what moves to make, run through mistakes, etc. to have you get through the plateau you’re facing, but the goal is to have this happen in YOUR hands and develop this skill set to take with you for your entire future career. We provide you with the resources and support to successfully do this on your own in the big picture.

Q: Is this program only for advanced musicians?

No- this program is made to be able to help you through any sticking point, regardless of your skill level. We've taken on people using Garageband with 0 music theory knowledge before and given them the skills to complete their first song on their own.

Q: Is this program for everyone?

Truly, no. IF you are not dedicated, coachable, and committed, this program will not be a good fit. The only reason people don’t do well is because they don’t trust the process and don’t do the work. We take the commitment to serve you seriously and want to work with others who feel the same!

Q: I only have a small interface, a budget mic, and midi keyboard. Is that enough?

YES. You don’t need much to get amazing results. We always find that the excuse of “gear” boils down to a mindset issue. Trust the process, we know you can crush it with whatever you have on hand. The bare essentials are a computer and microphone (if you’re a vocalist). Simply put, if we cannot record your voice (again, if you’re a vocalist), we cannot finish your song! You can work with a local studio or producer for vocals, or we can discuss options for equipment on the call. Rest assured, gear selection has NEVER been a sticking point.

Q: How do group coaching calls work?

They are currently twice a week. When you come in, you’ll see Nick or another team member’s face. Depending on the question, a student (including you) may be sharing their screen and audio, so everyone else can see and hear what’s going on easily. They are typically an hour long and may end prior to that, but we don’t stop until all questions have been answered.

Q: What happens on our strategy call together?

This call is designed to be as valuable for you as possible, assessing your music goals, strengths and weaknesses, so we can make sure that you are in line to be one of our success stories. If we truly feel that you’re an AWESOME fit for the program, we’ll discuss how we can help. If we both decide it’s the right decision to bring you in, we’ll handle payment and onboard you into the program so you can get going ASAP.

Q: Is this really a “one-stop-shop” for everything music production?

YES. We are here to support you and meet you where YOU need help, and tailor our time together around that. We start where YOU are struggling, and we work through each step of the framework from there. This includes music theory, song concepts, lyric writing, melody writing, arranging, sound selection, layering, groove building, transitions, mixing, vocal layering, editing, revising, mastering workflow, and even things about creating effective and impactful content for your goals. All things Nick and his team have gone through time and time again, and can guide you along the way to keep you on track and getting to your desired results as FAST as possible without sacrificing quality.

Q: I’m afraid I can’t afford the program.. Should I wait?

If you’re reading this, you’re probably at a point where you’re not satisfied with your music or your music skills and you’ve considered some cheaper option that, if you ended up going with, left you frustrated, overwhelmed, and even more lost than before the search began! Think about it.. When you want to become a master at a skill or group of skills, what do you do? When you want to take martial arts seriously, do you master that craft by buying a $97 video series? No, you go to a dojo, and work intimately with someone who has mastered the art before you. They can provide specific feedback tailored to where you’re making mistakes and stop you from making that over and over again (as opposed to watching a video on it, and then spending hours trying to replicate it, failing, and then questioning if you are forever doomed to waste your life in a vicious circle of progress-less music-making). The shortcut to success with developing a highly technical skillset is to invest in yourself through high-quality instruction and guidance. High Quality Information In = High Quality Music Out.

Nick here adding my own personal note: I did in fact attend University for music technology and chose to take on debt to learn in facilities I would never be able to afford or come close to working in (at least not for years and years). The fact is that you don’t need to go into debt with a college education to get fantastic results with your music. After graduating I worked at Guitar Center and did live sound at corporate events while also interning and freelance engineering out of a local non-profit recording studio. It was HERE working independently both in a studio and in my own home setup that I learned most of what I know about producing, music making, engineering, and how to get high quality results. I still lacked a lot of guidance and learned so many lessons the hard way but it was through my own hunger that I was able to roll with the punches and follow through on the music dream. Most of the things I learned that actually yielded me results and progressed me in my music career was my own action, willingness, and desire to learn. Through this program my goal is to cut to the chase when it comes to music making with the tools you have at your disposal RIGHT NOW. You shouldn’t have to go thousands of dollars into debt to do something you can do from the comfort of your home with some high-quality guidance tailored to your specific music goals and needs.

Q: Are there any common traits from people doing the best in these kinds of programs?

YES! These people tend to be:

Trusting the process - They know that if the next step is X, and they thought it was Y, that there is a very intentional reason we did it in that order, even if it doesn’t make sense in the moment.

Coachable - They are open to being coached, listen with an open mind, and aren’t afraid of honest feedback even if it makes them uncomfortable. You may feel uncomfortable at times or be learning things you don’t think you need, but remember this: You must be willing to do things you have never done to get to where you’ve never been!

Action-takers - These people take the insight from a call or lesson and put it into ACTION in the following days. They know that applying what you learn is the best and fastest way to solidify it in your mind, and take no hesitation to take it “Into the field” and test it relentlessly.

Show Up - The coaching calls are not mandatory, but people who show up (or watch/listen to recordings) know how valuable other perspectives are, which is exactly what happens on the group calls. Even if you have nothing to ask, it’s preventative medicine for problems you are likely to encounter down the line!

Q: Finally, is this program for me?

The only way to be sure that this program is a great fit for you (and that YOU are a fit for the program) is to book a call, attend the call, and we will evaluate your situation and see if we can help. We absolutely will not sell you or offer you ANYTHING unless we deeply believe you will get a massive return on your investment. The only way to find out if this is the case for you is to jump into the call headfirst! Thank you for taking the time and we look forward to diving deep on our call together. Now get out there, work hard, and let’s make music everyone will remember.
